December 2010

December 1st, 2010

As I watch the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season unfolding, I take notice of the bargain shoppers scurrying in and out of the stores. The postman is quicker in his step carrying twice the load as usual. The sale's clerks are busying trying to keep shelves stocked. Friends & family are requesting addresses to complete their mailing lists or taking family pictures for the anticipated Christmas cards.  Daddies are busy hanging pretty lights outside. Mommies are busy decorating trees and making candies inside.  I see all the preparations the Christmas season brings, but yet, still, there is something missing.  Something is missing from all the "Holiday" signs and greetings.  Something is missing from the hearts of those celebrating a special birth.  Something is missing from this CHRISTmas season.

As I check the Christmas lists of my children, I stop for a moment and wander... Dear Lord... my precious Jesus... my Glorious and wonderful Savior... what gift can I bring to you? On the celebration of your birth what offering can I lay at Your feet?The answer comes so quickly... so easily... directly from the very core of my being.  The only present worthy enough for any of us to lay before the Savior of the world is.... EVERYTHING. Every desire, every need, every word, every action, every deed. Complete and utter surrender to the ultimate will of the Father! To burn out all of this worldly flesh and just bask within the presence of the Lord.  To rid ourselves of our worldly desires and just long to worship Him. That is His true desire... for us to receive all the blessings that He gave His life for us to obtain... that is His true desire.  To see us long to become less like this world and more like our dear Savior... this is the ultimate Christmas offering.

                   We bring an offering of worship to our King
                No one on earth deserves the Praises that we sing
                 Jesus may you receive the honor that You're due
                          O Lord, I bring an offering to You

                    WE are an offering of worship to our King

Another choice for a song this month.

Do we really take the time to think about the sacrifice that was made. Can we really understand the depth of God's love?  Worthy is the Lamb!

Cause how many kings, stepped down from their thrones?
How many lords have abandoned their homes?
How many greats have become the least for me?
How many Gods have poured out their hearts
To romance a world that has torn all apart?
How many fathers gave up their sons for me?

Only ONE did that for me!

"Whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time & then vanishes away." James 4:14

Time is precious....Not a moment to waste!  Lord, Use this vapor! May it drown out darkness and FLOOD the whole world with the light of Your Glory!

"Oh I can see a light that is coming for the heart that holds on and there will be an end to these troubles but until that day comes.  Still I will praise you! Still I will PRAISE  YOOOU!"

The light is grower brighter & brighter! The night is nearly over... I CAN FEEL IT! I CAN FEEL IT! Watch carefully & BEHOLD THE GLORIOUS DAWN!

For the past several weeks during prayer service this is what I feel so strong within my spirit.  The night is always darkest just before dawn and the sun is on the horizon.  Within my spirit I hear... The night is at it's end... Now behold my GLORIOUS dawn!  An excitement feels my heart.  I am so anxious to see the wonderful things God is going to accomplish.  Within my spirit I hear... Arise my daughter...You shall behold my Glory.  The night is over, on this day you shall behold my Glory.  ARISE My faithful ones.. My faithful ones... they will be set apart.  God gave me a vision of dark world.  It appeared as a globe covered in darkness, but in the midst I stood with my arms held high and a beam of bright light illuminated the area around me.  The world may grow darker, but the ones who remain faithful, who stand the test of time by not compromising HIS truth.  The ones who remain pure of heart regardless of persecution... The ones who choose to stand and fight for what is RIGHT even though darkness falls upon them... God's FAITHFUL ones will be set apart! And the difference will be clearly seen, for they will be the ones whom nations shall call BLESSED!  As God gave me this vision He gave another close to me a scripture... My mouth dropped as my vision was directly spoken through HIS WORD...
Arise, shine;
      For your light has come!
      And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you.
       For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth,
      And deep darkness the people;
      But the LORD will arise over you,
      And His glory will be seen upon you.
      The Gentiles shall come to your light,
      And kings to the brightness of your rising.
       “ Lift up your eyes all around, and see:
      They all gather together, they come to you;
      Your sons shall come from afar,
      And your daughters shall be nursed at your side.
       Then you shall see and become radiant,
      And your heart shall swell with joy;
      Because the abundance of the sea shall be turned to you,
      The wealth of the Gentiles shall come to you.

Isaiah 60 1:5

Girls day out. Grandma "Soup" and I took the older girls to see "The Nutcracker" for the first time today.  It was such a memorable experience. They really enjoyed the ballet and the time they spent with their Grandma "Soup" (Tommy's step-mom, Sue)

Serenity stayed with her Dad for a few hours today.  Not sure what she did while we were gone, but I'm guessing it was VERY amusing.
         Came home, put the kids to bed, then opened the freezer...

  Yes... that is her stuffed horses behind. :)  Not really sure what the explanation is here, but just as everything else that comes out of Serenity's mouth, I bet it's a doosey! :)

We went away for Christmas this year.  My parents rented a nice cabin for a few days and 20 of us piled in together.  It was very nice to get away.  It would have been even NICER is if we hadn't celebrated with a puke fest.  Yes... I said puke. Kayleigh brought a stomach bug along with her.  She started puking, then passed it to Gracee, who passed to Noah, who passed it to Eli, who gave it to Serenity, and...well you get the picture.  We had puke flying EVERYWHERE! We had Papa running for the door, young boy cousins where yelling..."Ahhh... Cool! Man that's gross!" Aunt and Uncles where shielding their own kids.  It was a definitely... um... uh... something we will never forget.  Yes... it the midst of all this puke, we were making memories to last a lifetime! That's the great thing about families.... you live, you share and you love! Although, there aren't many, we did manage to capture a few pix.... MINUS the puke! :)

                                 Poor Dora the Explorer!
                           Someone should have warned her
              BEFORE she joined THIS family Christmas day....

                             Serenity has decided she wants to be a hair stylist! :0
